Introducing: The Dragon's Apothecary
Apr 24, 2024
Cliffnotes: Launching new company alongside Dragon's Treasure to sell non-tea items. Our first product is handmade soaps. Lots of new products will be coming soon. Also don't forget to check out our Dragon's Treasure changes, as well.
For the rest of this week, spending $50 on Dragon's Treasure products will get you a free soap! Just add it to your cart and it will automatically be discounted.
When I launched The Dragon’s Treasure in 2015, I didn’t (and still don’t) have any intentions of building it up only to sell it, or to make billions with sleazy marketing strategies and cutting as many corners as I can, or anything of the sort. I wanted to start a business around something I loved, that allowed me to do what I love with my own knowledge and skill. As I’ve told people for almost 9 years now, I am a Teaman first and a Businessman second. The product is the end goal, not me making more money than I could spend in a hundred lifetimes.
With the business being firmly established now, I wanted to continue this idea and expand it; the idea of doing what I love, creating a product made out of that love, and sharing it with the world. Tea and anime are obviously major loves that I have, but they are not the only loves. I love the idea of the anime themed tea store, and I do not want to overload it from a specialty space to a wide, general goods space. As such, I have decided that with the new era of products that I will make and sell, it shall be under a new brand and a new company, one that will touch upon other aspects of what I care about in this life.
The idea for the new store began in my mind several years ago, more so as a “What if” concept. The items I would sell would center around general well being, whether it was physical, mental, or spiritual. To keep the connection to me and what I do, I chose a similar naming style that signified what we were about; The Dragon’s Apothecary. While The Dragon’s Treasure had anime as its core backdrop for the products, The Dragon’s Apothecary is going to have mythology and mysticism as its core backdrop for the products. It will make more sense what I mean when you see our launching products in a bit.
Two years ago, I bought the rights to http://www.thedragonsapothecary.com. Last year, I began to look up the first item I planned on selling, handmade soaps. A few weeks ago, I began the process of testing and experimentation. After plenty of trial and error, I got my formula down, and am ready to launch our first line of soaps, handmade by yours truly. Just as I launched with 12 teas in 2015, I am launching with 12 soaps in 2024. The soaps are:
Breath of Life (Peppermint, Spearmint, Eucalyptus Essential Oils)
Lavender Soap (Lavender Essential Oils and Lavender Bits for Exfoliation)
Rays of Helios (Orange Essential Oil, Safflower and Chamomile Exfoliates, Golden Sprinkles)
Lemon Zest (Lemon Essential Oil)
Ancient Forest (Cedarwood Essential Oil)
Eucalyptus Scrub (Eucalyptus Essential Oil, Eucalyptus Exfoliates)
Lavender Lemon (Lavender and Lemon Essential Oils)
Blessed Heal (Frankincense Essential Oil, Epson Salt)
Skin of the Dryads (Peppermint and Spearmint Essential Oils, Peppermint and Spearmint Exfoliates)
Dwarven Fireforge Soap (Activated Charcoal, Dead Sea Salt)
Coffee Soap (Ground Coffee Exfoliates)
You can click on each soap for more details on what the soap base was made out of. One thing worth noting is that all the soaps use essential oils, not fragrance oils. If you don’t know the difference, essential oils come straight from the plant in question. Fragrance oils are just chemicals. While that doesn’t mean it’s inherently bad, much like how I looked to make and sell teas that require no sweetener, I look to make soaps that don’t need fragrance oils to be enjoyable. There may be soaps in the future that use fragrance oils, and they will be labeled as such. But for now, much like my teas, I’m aiming for natural quality. Having some of the best products around, items that others want and look forward to; that is what brings me personal joy.
While we continue to perfect the craft of soap making, more soaps will be added in the future (with more fun designs and unique molds, such as dragon shaped soaps), that is not the only products we’ll eventually be selling. As some may remember, The Dragon’s Treasure used to sell bottled Iced Teas and a tea based energy drink we called Enertea. We had to stop because our facilities couldn’t properly keep up with demand. While that hasn’t changed, I still occasionally make myself a large batch, along with other concoctions for personal use. The energy drinks received high praise, largely thanks to our unique formula that made it stand out from the competition, and I plan to make similar items in the future in powdered form so people can enjoy them as a shake.
Likewise, tapping into my roots as a former personal trainer, we used to make the tea based protein powder, nicknamed ProTEAn Powder. We had to stop because production was too expensive at the time, but now is a lot more feasible. So protein powders, pre workouts, and focus/concentration mixtures will be arriving one day. Probably sooner rather than later, for as I said I frequently make my own mixes already; it’s just a matter of upscaling.
There will be other items for the mental and spiritual side of people, as well. We’ll be making our own incense, scented candles, bath bombs, and other similar items. But one step at a time; let us master the production and business side of one item before we move on to another, to ensure everything we make is the highest possible quality.
For now, all Dragon’s Apothecary items will be sold on The Dragon’s Treasure website, so people can order soaps and teas under one account with one shipping cost (and use all available Dragon’s Treasure coupon codes). Once The Dragon’s Apothecary has more items under its belt and has grown to where it can stand on its own, it shall be placed on its own website.
Thank you all who have been with us on this journey so far. I know it’s the ‘expected’ thing to say, but I’ve never been one to utter cliché lines if I don’t actually believe in them; I am very excited for this new venture and the future of The Dragon’s Treasure going forward. I hope you will continue to follow us to see what comes next.
